About ACHPA
Our mission is to promote excellence in psychological practice and culturally responsive care for Chinese communities in Australia. We aim to strengthen professional connection, support practitioner development, and improve mental health outcomes through culturally informed understanding and collaboration.

- Advocate for culturally responsive mental health systems in Australia
- Bridge understanding between Chinese communities and the broader mental health sector
Our Team / Governance
Governance Structure
The Association is governed in accordance with the Model Rules for Incorporated Associations (Consumer Affairs Victoria). These Rules provide the framework for the Association’s governance, including decision-making processes, office bearer roles, financial management, meetings, and member rights.
The Association is managed by a Committee of Management, elected by members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Committee is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, administration, and compliance of the Association in line with the Model Rules and applicable legislation.
Key office bearers include the President, Secretary, and Treasurer, who are supported by other Committee members. The Committee ensures that the Association operates transparently, ethically, and in the best interests of its members.
Members play an active role in governance by participating in the AGM, voting on key matters, and contributing to the election of the Committee. Where required, the Committee may establish working groups or subcommittees to support specific areas of activity, reporting back to the Committee as appropriate.
